The word "Transmutation" means "to change in nature, form, or quality" from the original. Thus "Transmutation of the Three Angels" means to change the original messages of Revelation 14 in nature, form, or quality into other messages. An angel is a spirit (Hebrews 1:7, 14, Psalms 104:4). The three angels of Revelation 14 are involved with messages from heaven, hence they are righteous or clean angels or spirits. But there are three other spirits listed in Revelation 16 who are involved with messages from the Devil's kingdom, hence they are unrighteous or unclean spirits.
